Notes:
There’s never been anything like PRISCILLA. This Oscar winning movie is possibly the most successful export ever to come out of Australia. Stephan Elliot’s drag outback odyssey is a hilarious insight into Oz macho culture. A glittering cast go to town on this never say die adventure that combines the Director’s wry humour, and sharp insights into what it is to be Australian. As with Elliott's other films, warmth and humanity are everywhere. You walk out of his films feeling better about the world.
Priscilla became the forerunner, bringing drag into the mainstream. From the ubiquitous stage musical to the Priscilla experience, this film has spawned an industry single handedly. This the 30th anniversary of the film’s release and a fantastic time to celebrate the old girl’s achievements.
