In Search Of Anna
Synopsis:
Tony’s just out of jail after serving time for a bank job. His mates think he's got the money and now they want it. Tony just wants to find Anna. He deals with one thing at a time. This is a road movie and a trip where past, present and future combine seamlessly to create an unforgettable experience.
Notes:
This is an undiscovered gem of Australian cinema. It has been reconstructed for this screening. It is an extraordinary road movie that was years ahead of its time. The film owes more to a European sensibility than what was being made in Australia at the time. Elegant, sinuous and energetic, In Search Of Anna is a revelation. Under the skilled direction of the late Esben Storm, past present and future blend into one glittering narrative strand. Extraordinary performances by a fantastic cast and music by AC/DC, The Angels & Rose Tattoo. This is the first screening of the film in 45 years.
